Andong-siSouth Korea

The image displays a wall densely covered with traditional Korean Hahoe wooden masks in a retail or exhibition setting within Andong-si, South Korea. Approximately three dozen masks, varying in size and individual expression, are visible. The masks are carved from light to dark brown wood, showcasing natural grain, and feature exaggerated facial characteristics such as prominent noses, open mouths, and stylized eyes and eyebrows. Some masks incorporate black painted details for hair, eyebrows, or decorative elements. One distinct female mask, positioned on the left side of the mid-frame, exhibits red dots on its forehead and cheeks, red lips, and a sculpted black headpiece. Each mask is suspended by dark brown braided cords attached to metal hooks, which are secured onto a black metal grid panel mounted against a light-colored wall. A white rectangular sign with Korean text is visible on the grid panel in the lower-right quadrant, reading "만지면 안됩니다. 파손시 변상해야 합니다." which translates to "Do not touch. If damaged, you must compensate." No individuals are present in the scene.
