The midground and background are heavily populated with banana plants at various stages of growth and decay. Several mature banana plants with large, intact green leaves stand upright. Interspersed among them are numerous cut banana trunks and stumps, revealing fibrous, brown interiors. Fallen banana stems and dried leaves are scattered across the ground.
