A white marble funerary stele depicts a draped female figure kneeling before a cross
Short TermA white marble funerary stele depicts a draped female figure kneeling before a cross. The woman's head is bowed, and her face is partially obscured by her veil. Her hands are clasped together in her lap, holding what appears to be a wreath or garland. The cross is simple and unadorned, with a cloth draped over its horizontal beam. The base of the sculpture bears Greek inscriptions. A small black plaque in the lower right corner provides information about the artwork, identifying it as a "Mezar Steli" (Funerary Stele) made of marble, dating to the 19th-20th century. The plaque also includes text in Turkish and English, as well as a logo for "ANTALYA NİKAİMPOL MÜZESİ" (Antalya Archaeological Museum). The sculpture is displayed on a dark gray pedestal against a plain, dark gray background. The lighting appears to be museum-grade, highlighting the detail of the marble.
