AnconaItaly

A large, reddish-orange horse sculpture, identified as the 'Cavallo di Ancona' by Mimmo Paladino, stands elevated on the terracotta-tiled roof of a multi-story building in Ancona, Italy. This building is the former slaughterhouse (Ex Mattatoio), situated on Colle Astagno within the Cittadella park complex. The horse sculpture is supported by vertical structures extending from the roof. The building's upper facade, visible below the horse, is light grey with a row of rectangular windows fitted with dark green shutters. Below this, a concrete section of the building features multiple smaller, recessed rectangular openings. In the lower right foreground, a partial view of a light-colored brick building with a dark gutter system and downspout is present. The background consists of a densely forested hill, primarily covered with dark green coniferous and deciduous trees, extending upwards towards a clear, bright blue sky. No human figures or discernible activities are depicted.
