This scene is located within an opulent interior in San Ildefonso, Spain, likely the Royal Palace of La Granja. Centrally positioned on a serpentine-fronted console table is an ornate Neoclassical-style mantel clock, crafted from white marble and extensively adorned with gilt bronze (ormolu). The clock's rectangular base features gilt bronze grilles against red backgrounds, surmounted by an upper structure comprising black fluted columns and white marble elements that support a white circular dial with black Roman numerals and minute markers, indicating approximately 11:58.
