This is an acrylic painting depicting a stylized female figure partially submerged in a turquoise-green body of water

KochiIndia

This is an acrylic painting depicting a stylized female figure partially submerged in a turquoise-green body of water. The artwork is executed in the traditional Kerala mural painting style, a prominent art form in the Kerala region of India, including the city of Kochi. The central figure is a woman with light blue-grey skin, dark hair, and large, expressive eyes, and a slight smile. She wears extensive traditional South Indian jewelry, including large circular earrings, multiple ornate necklaces, and bracelets on both wrists and upper arms. Her torso is bare, adorned with decorative patterns characteristic of the art style. Her right hand (viewer's left) is raised, delicately holding the stem of a partially opened, orange-hued lotus flower. A thin, bright orange string or thread originates near her right hand, loops across her chest, and is held by her left hand (viewer's right) near her left ear. Her left hand is positioned as if adjusting the string or an ear ornament. The background consists of the turquoise-green water, rendered with circular ripple patterns. Scattered across the water are numerous green lotus leaves and several other orange lotus buds and flowers, some open, some closed, indicating a lotus pond environment. The painting exhibits visible canvas texture.
